      <image:title>About - E-RYT 500 hour</image:title>
      <image:caption>Heather has almost 3 decades of experience as a yoga student, teacher, and teacher trainer. She began her journey in 1996, at the age of 19, at a traditional hot yoga studio in Bellevue, Washington. Heather’s path took many twists and turns during her first year of practice, eventually rooting into spaces with the Vinyasa style of yoga from the Krishnamacharya lineage.  In 2002, she completed a 200 hour certification with Kathleen Hunt and the Samadhi Yoga Studio. After reading Michelle C. Johnson’s book, Skill In Action, Heather was inspired to learn how she could create braver and more inclusive healing spaces. She went on to complete the author’s Skill in Action 500 hour teacher training in 2021. Heather owned and operated her own studio, Sangha Yoga Seattle, from 2017 until 2022. Everyday, she witnessed, as well as felt, how impactful a yoga community can be on one's healing path. Here, she was continually reminded to lead with her heart, and became skilled in providing an experience that is approachable and accessible. Her intention is to support students in learning how to resource themselves, both during the practice and beyond. Heather reminds students that they are inherently wise, incredibly resilient, and divinely kind in the hopes that they leave class more connected and whole.   Heather seeks to tailor the practice to the needs of the individual while simultaneously creating a unique pattern of movement for the group.  She weaves her knowledge and deep understanding of yoga ideology into her offerings, finding purpose in guiding students towards self understanding and self love.  Heather resides in Richmond Beach with her partner of 23 years, 3 children and 2 dogs and one cat. She loves being close to the Puget Sound and having some green space nearby to walk her fur babies. Yoga will always be the movement practice that brings her back to her center but she feels strongly that there is more than one form of movement that supports finding inner peace. Heather feels that yoga is a living and breathing practice that can become the undercurrent of ones life. It can be a loving force that guides us back to the version of ourselves we feel most at home in.</image:caption>
